From Cafe to Collective:
We’re doejo, a digital agency based in Chicago, and we’ve been entrenched in budding businesses for over a decade. Sprouted from a network of coffee shops and currently led by founders Phil Tadros and Darren Marshall, and a growing collective of badasses, we’re a mastermind start-up incubator think tank and production house. We’ve worked with industry leaders like Groupon, Umbra, and Swingline, as well as start-ups like Greater > Than, Pawsley, and TinyVox to publications like Consequence of Sound and Today’s Chicago Woman.
Our Approach to Web Development:
With regards to web development, Doejo uses the Agile Development Methodology, which is a framework for software engineering that promotes development iterations throughout the life-cycle of the project.
Agile development minimizes risk by developing software in short amounts of time. Software developed during one unit of time is referred to as an iteration, which may last from one to four weeks. Each iteration is an entire software project: including planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation. An iteration goal is to have an available release (without bugs) at the end of each iteration where both our team in tandem with your team re-evaluates project priorities.
Agile methods emphasize daily communication over written documents. At a minimum, this includes programmers and their "customers" (customers define the product; they may be product managers, business analysts, or the end clients).
Our Process:
We discover, build, launch, and grow ideas. Our projects are guided by best practices, collaboration and momentum. We’re definitely scrappy, and we fight for our projects. By treating each engagement as a partnership, we fully invest ourselves in the success of our clients. By focusing on this simple process, we’ve successfully launched hundreds of products, brands, sites, and campaigns for ourselves and our clients.
The Place of the Way:
In Western Japan, the dōjō serves as a special gathering place for the study and mastery of style and strategy. We believe Doejo is not only a place where creative people can come together to learn and grow, but also a mindset that helps us iterate quickly to produce a momentum that our clients need to be successful. With the capabilities to build nearly anything, we choose to work on ideas led by founders that are passionate and understand the importance of our process and why we do things differently.

moe. is an American jam band, formed at the University at Buffalo in 1990. The band members are: Rob Derhak (bass, Vocals), Al Schnier (guitar, Vocals, keyboard), Chuck Garvey (guitar, Vocals), Vinnie Amico (drums), and Jim Loughlin (percussion).
The band's first record, Fatboy (1992), established the band as a favorite of the 1990s jam band and improvisational rock scene that grew in popularity with bands such as Phish and Widespread Panic. Just as Grateful Dead followers were coined "Dead Heads", avid moe. fans embrace the term "moe.rons." moe. toured with the 1994 Furthur Festival, appeared at Woodstock '99, played Summerstage at the Rumsey Playfield in Central Park, opened for The Allman Brothers and The Who, performed at Radio City Music Hall on New Year's Eve 2007 and returned there for New Year's Eve 2009.
